About Me
I am a DONA certified birth doula, living in
South Portland, Maine with my daughter, son and
husband. I truly love the work that I do, and
consider myself very lucky to be able to attend
to a family at such a precious moment in their
journey.
Birth is
transformational--not
only are babies born at the moment of birth,
but also mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers,
grandparents…and so it is truly a time to be
revered, celebrated, and skillfully handled.
With this in mind, I pride myself on
professionalism and expertise in order to best
guide a family through their perinatal period.
I continually seek to improve my knowledge base
through conferences, trainings, reading, and
co-mentoring with fellow doulas. I want to
serve you in the best way possible.
As a doula I am honored to be a part of your exploration of new life with all of its joy, anticipation, excitement plus its many concerns and fears. If any difficulties arise, as your doula I am present for you, your baby and family to help smooth the path by listening, nurturing, encouraging, providing information and, if necessary, the proper referrals. The arrival of a new being into a family is the most wonderful event, but at times it can be truly overwhelming. As a doula, I am trained in order to enhance your joy, and diminish the difficulties.
